Starting a test automatically means that the test starts without any user intervention when the Test Start Period begins. This means that any students who are logged into the Test Lobby will have the Start Test button on their test enabled, as soon at the Test Start Period begins.
The beginning of the Test Start Period is displayed in the 'From' column of the Sittings List.
The other way of starting a test is to start it manually.
To check Automatic Test Start options
1 Click the Sittings buttonfrom the home screen.
All existing sittings are displayed within the Sittings List.
2 Find the sitting you want to start automatically.
3 Ensure the beginning of the Test Start Period is the date and time you require, which is displayed in the 'From' column of the Sittings List. If it is not, then you can change the Test Start Period by following the steps in the Change Details of a Sitting procedure.
4 Click the Actions button displayed alongside the sitting.
The Edit button and the Download Access Codes button now replace the Sitting Name in the first column.
5 Click the Edit button to display the Sittings Wizard.
6 Click the Next button until you reach the Start Test Mode page.
7 Ensure the Automatic Test Start option is selected. If it has not been selected, then select it and save the sitting. Navigate back to the Sittings List.
You have now successfully checked that the settings for an Automatic Test Start have been selected for your sitting.
8 To return to the home screen, click the Home button
